SSEN is a nonprofit entity, focused on creating women entrepreneurs and generating employment opportunities for women and youth through entrepreneurship education and vocational skill building programs.
SSEN has been Incorporated Under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956, U93000MH2009NPL192241 on May 7, 2009.
In 2006,our founder Prema
Gopalan decided to set up the BDS-Business Development Unit. She was inspired
by rural women’s from Latur and Osmanabad.
The aim of the BDS-Business Development Unit was to address a lack of access to information and provide training and handholding support to rural women to save their time, money and gain more profit.
After 3 years in 2009 BDS-Business Development Unit registered as SAkhi Social Enterprise Network.We work on building business skills and facilitating market access for women entrepreneurs as well as their communities.
Today, we work in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar and Kerala. We aim to reach one million women by 2025.
